Film Poster Analysis

  1. What do you think the film is about and what might the storyline be?
  2. What genre(s) do you think the film belongs to?
3. Who do you think is the target audience?

Blade runner;

  1. I think that the film is about a war between humans and robots. This is because on the film poster, there is a quote on the top right saying, "Man has made his match." The word "made" suggests that whatever the antagonist is, it was created by humans so it is most likely robots. The story line is most likely a war.
  2. Sci-fi.
  3. 65% Males 35% Females - 16-45.

Scary Movie 2;
  1. The film is a comedic spin-off classical horror movies in the 21st century. This is because of the film title and the facial expressions of the actors on the film poster. Also, the tagline "Absolutely Hilarious" clearly mean the film has a comedic aspect to it.
  2. Horror Comedy
  3. 50% Male 50% Female - 12 - 40

Uzak:

  1. I think that the film is about a man who has trouble with his wife and possibly in search for her for forgiveness. This is because on the film poster there is that single man looking at a massive landscape as well as the tagline "Profoundly Beautiful".
  2. Romance Drama
  3. 45% Male 55% Female - 17 - 40

Im Not Scared:

  1. I think that this film is about a young boy finding a hole in the ground which leads to some sort of race living underground. This is because of the main image on the film poster clearly showing the boy and the hole.
  2. Adventure Mystery
  3. 70% Male, 30% Female - 6 - 20

Sin City:

  1. This film is in my opinion about an organisation facing off against an evil agency. It looks like a film noir type of film because of the colour scheme shown on the film poster. Also, the group of characters on the film poster with guns hint at the idea of an organisation.
  2. Action, Crime
  3. 60% Male, 40% Female - 16 - 50

Pirates of the Caribbean:

  1. I think that the story line of this film is clearly about pirates. The logo on the film name of the skull is an iconic symbol of piracy known by pretty much all cultures and the centre image of the sinking ship is also an indication of piracy.
  2. Adventure, Action
  3. 51% Male, 49% Female - 12 - 60

Bride & Prejudice:

  1. I think that the story of this film is about love were its about the life of a couple and it has a comedic aspect to it. This is because of the film poster, the image at the centre portrays the couple smiling and the background is a crowd of people cheering for them. Also, the taglne "Spectacular, Romantic, Funny and So Sexy" further explains the love comedy aspect of the film.
  2. Romance, Comedy
  3. 40% Male 60% Female - 14 - 45

Million Dollar Baby:

  1. I think that this film is about a woman who had her husband killed and seeks revenge. This film most likely has a heroine lead actress because of the centre image of the film poster, portraying a strong confident woman. The angry facial expression and muscles on her back show the seriousness of this film and how strong the character is.
  2. Action, Crime
  3. 55% Male, 45% Female - 16 - 40
